Each year on the first Saturday in December, the City of Hammond kicks off the holiday season with one of the largest parades in Northwest Indiana. The Optimist Club is a proud participant in the parade with a float that is decorated by the membership. The youth walk/ride the parade route along Indianapolis Blvd. and a great time is had by all!

Our own local project is the Hammond Optimist Youth Sports Complex and our affiliation with Hammond Optimist Youth Sports. The complex and program is named for us due to the contributions to develop the park and our yearly support of the HOYS program.
